My name is Fransua Rachmann and I have been coaching tennis for more than 24 years. I coached in South Africa, UK, USA and in Dubai in the UAE. Now I live in North Bay, Ontario with my wife and 2 beautiful kids. We have a great tennis club in town with 6 courts and our club is very busy in the summer. A tennis student of mine that I coached for 8 years, Adrian Catahan, was fortunate enough to join a tennis academy in Italy in 2021 and he started playing with MSV Focus Hex strings there. Before that, I have never even heard of the brand name, but Adrian was very impressed with the strings.

He was a constant string breaker, to the point where his parents bought him his own stringing machine a few years back, since I could not keep up stringing racquets for him and the rest of the members in the club during the summer! Adrian convinced me to try these strings out, not just because of their resistance to breaking, but also their feel and spin ability. I ordered some strings and experimented with a few different ones, but the one that work best for my game is the Focus Hex Soft 1.20mm string at 48lbs. I have been stringing our club members’ racquets with the range of MSV strings too, according to their game and specs, and I have only good feedback about it.

The Tennis Pointer is a great coaching tool that I use for my tennis students on court and I hit with it myself every now and then before matches.
Members at our club really like the variety of colors that the overgrips come in. But they also realised apart from the nice colors, these grips are also very absorbent and keep their “tackiness” longer than other grips.

I like the Soft Stitch replacement grip since I like a contoured grip texture, My hands get really sweaty in matches and it gives me that extra confidence on serves without the fear that my racquet will slip out of my hand. I also then don’t have to hold on tight during the swing so my hand can relax and I can get more racquet head acceleration in my groundstrokes. On volleys, when the ball does not hit the middle of the strings (which happens A LOT at club level), the racquet is also less likely to move or “spin” in your hand because of a more secure grip.

Club players and Europe and the USA have been using MSV products for more than 15 years and it is now time that all level of players here in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia also have a chance to play with the same quality and affordable tennis equipment.
